DOC XL Secret Agent Sofa Bunk Beds

Posted: 09 Apr 2012 05:37 AM PDT

There is a constant balance that we must strike between having a home full of cool furniture and a home full of sensible furniture. Well, if you buy the furniture featured on this website, you can have both.
The DOC XL is a great example. This is a piece of furniture that converts between a comfortable couch and a set of bunk beds. I'm not even sure what to call this piece. It is like some hybrid between the pullout couch and Optimus Prime that has decided to forgo the life of action his father wanted for him and become a functional piece of furniture for your downtown loft. Continue reading for Video…

This piece is a great space saver in a small apartment or a studio apartment where space is at a premium. Often times we are forced to choose between a couch and a bed. I know lots of people who have chosen a pullout couch but have regretted it later. This allows you to have the best of both worlds. I can't speak for the comfort, but if it is more comfortable than a junky old pullout couch then I am happy.
Even if you have a good amount of living space, this is ideal for those who have a regular stream of guests yet do not have a guest room. Converting this couch into bunk beds turns the living room into a guest room with sleeping space for, at least, two people. For the same reason, I suggest this as an alternative to a couch in a child's room. With this "couch" on hand, you will always be ready with extra sleeping space for those unexpected sleepovers.
I am biting at the bit to get my hands on this one. I have the space for one more couch in my living room and this piece offers so much that a normal couch won't.

“Place the back side of the digit (with post) inside the fingertip of the glove and push through.”  Digits are mini conductive pins that attach to the gloves you already love so you can use electronic touch screen devices, even when it's below zero.   Via
